DIGIPAK PLAN

This is the template I am going to use when creating my digipak from http://www.discmakers.com/templates/Digipaks.asp. The template is free to dowload from the website and when dowloaded gives a pdf and photoshop file. Having a photoshop file will be useful as I can open the image straight into photoshop and then add all the components to the digipak. The template also has simple gidelines which will help me to make a correct, conventional digipak for my album.

Using a Close-Up Photograph that I took during Day Two filming when in the studio and then an additional photograph I took in the woods for the purpose of the digipak I am going to do an overlay of the both photographs in photoshop. The font will be chossen when I have completed the picture. The font will be chossen keeping in consideration conventions and the music that is going to be on the album.

For the inside of the digipak when it is fully open I am planning to use this photograph to fill the whole inside. Looking at the canvas sizes of the Digipak template in photoshop I will be able to edit the picture into a panoramic photograph. For the back of the Digipak I want to keep it simple. After looking at location photos that I took I think that the brick wall will be perfect for the back of the digipak. It's simple but links to the Loaction and one of the video shots, and will keep the attention on the information and the album rather than star image.

On the extra panel of the digipak I am going to use the photo to the right. The photo is suppose to replicate a screen shot of the video. This will help the audience to make links. On the inside of the digipak i feel it is important to have personal touches and pictures of the artist as the front and backcover dont show the artist. My intention for this is that Megs songs are very personal and as an artist she is more focused on selling the songs than herself. Many artists rely on star image but my intention is to sell her songs rather than herself. All the editing will be done in photoshop. Each image will be edited on its own included added texts and manipulation before all are added to the template. When I have my first draft I will print a copy of the digipak to review it and see what changes need to be made. This will also give me the chance to see if everything folds together correctly.
