Researching existing indie folk digipaks has helped me to understand the conventional style of the genre. Genres such as Pop generally have the artist of band plastered all over the promotional products. They rely on star image and male gaze to attract the audience showing clearly the there fans, the artist. However when looking into indie folk examples the artists are usually not the main focus of the products. I prefer the indie folks more artistic approach to the digipaks as I feel it appeals to the target audience of the musics genre. As I also study a-level art I feel like an artistic styled digipak will not just be conventional but also fitting to myself.
