MAGAZINE LAYOUTS

I had an inital idea to what I wanted my magazine advert to look like but was unsure on the layout. The photograph was similar to the style of my Digipak to keep a constant house style that the audience would be able to recognise. Using a studio Photograph I took on our second day of filming with a location photograph of cambridge, which both were landscape. Magazine adverts are conventionally Portrait to fit on one page so I had to work with the image so I could still use it. I first experimented by just cropping the image to portrait however I found this to messy and confusing for the information to be clear. The second attempt below was a layout that is used in many magazine adverts such as Mumford and Sons- Sigh No More. Although i like this layout i experimented having the social media icons in their original colour and simple blocks, and for the style of magazine advert felt the icons in just white worked best. I also felt that the harsh white didnt corrospond with my digipak colours or the image filter. As a result of this i added a warming filter in photoshop to the whole image that I felt made  the whole Advert more conventional and fitting to the digipak. The quote used on the advert was taken from the same style of writting that Rolling Stone use in their reviews after researching on their website.
