What have you learned from your audience feedback?
Music Video Feedback
For my video feedback I created a Google Form Questionaire and sent the link to 10 people within our target audience. Above is the Questionaire I created. I used a range of multiple choice questions and open questions so I could get clear feeback and detailed feedback on what each person thought.
Results
80% said that they would watch our video again and 10% of this was only because it wasnt to their music taste. However the remaining 10% found it dull. Although there was a mix of narative and performance I myself think that the song has some movement missing. Inbetween the narative and performance shots I think that flash backs should of shown when the artist was happy. Using the same friends from the narative showing what they use to do as she gradually gets left out. This would of added some movement to the video and maybe some more interest.
The majority of the audience when asked what they liked about the video commented on the studio setting. I think as we were able to use a professional location with proper studio lights the audience feel that it is very professional. I think it was easier to create a professional look in the controlled enviroment as we werent able to manipuate the lighting on loaction with the use of additional lights due to not having the equipment. However lighting could be altered if done well in post-production.
To get some more information here I should of added a parargraph open question in the question were the audience could explain why they said no.
Many of the audience would'nt buy the album as it isnt the genre they are interested in. Again I should of added why they would'nt.
Like I mentioned above I think the video needed the past story line aswell as the present to help the audience connected more with the artist. This also would of given more room for additional creative camera shots as in feedback the audience asked for "more variety tot the technique of the filming".
Ancillary Task Feedback
I asked a group of our target audience to give me some feedback on my Ancillary tasks. I sat down six of our target audience, firstly i showed them the video then on the table was the products printed out in front of them for asking questions and discussing what they liked and disliked about the products.
Overall the feedback of the ancillary tasks was very positive and in relation to the products being part of one band style on all linking evryone seemed to think they all done this well. Suggestions made by the audience that they would change were included in experiments of mine when creating the products and I believe for example the social media logos being just in white looked the best to fit in with the rest of the products.
The audience commented on the use of the overlay in post-production. They like that this was consistent in both products and thought that this helped the products link to the indie folk genre with the conventional use of the trees and guitar. The majority of the audience seemed genuine when they said they would purchase the digipak because of how it looked and that it would stand out against other products. Overall I wouldnt change the ancillary tasks if I done it again as I like the overall look of them aswell as the positive feedback from the audience.
